DISCUSSIONS

Will robots replace human?
We had discussion about Robots. Can they change the humans. There were many thoughts about it. We started from what kind of inventions are robots. What can they do.  How good is for us there existence.  And we came to conclusion that the robots have their advantages and disadvantages. They can do many things better than humans. And on the one hand its good for country because robots can do things very fast and also qualitatively. But they haven’t any feelings. Robots are only metallic inventions which have a program and only this.  So we can use robots in some things but not in all things that we had to do.

Better Than Human: Why Robots Will - And Must - Take Our Jobs ?

Robots can change humans place in some jobs and they can make our life easier or simpler also. There is an opinion that this is going to happen at the end of this century and almost everything, 70% of population will be changed by automation.

There are classes of robots. One of the new classified robots is called Baxter. Baxter is less powerful then other robots but the uniqueness of this robot is that human can train it.
Based on this achievement, we can say that if the development of robots will continue with the same speed, the robots will change most of our place in the world at the end of this century.
To understand how robot replacement will happen, it's useful to break down our relationship with robots into four categories.

Let’s begin with quadrant A: There are jobs that human can do but robots can do better. For example,  creation of car. Human can construct car but robots can do it better, faster and easier.

Next is quadrant B: Jobs that human can't do but robots can. A trivial example: Humans have trouble making a single brass screw unassisted, but automation can produce a thousand exact per hour.

Quadrant C, the jobs created by automation- including the jobs that we did not know we wanted done. With help of robots, we can do what we could not do 150 years ago.

Quadrant D, the quadrant that makes us think that robots will never be able to replace humans in the world because there are too many of jobs which only human can do. But maybe this is temporary, we don’t know everything about future so let’s talk about future in the future.

In the coming years our relationships with robots will become ever more complex, but already a recurring pattern is emerging. But this is not a race against the machines. If we race against them, we lose. This is a race with the machines. Let the robots take the jobs, and let them help up new work that matters.

Nine jobs that humans may lose to robots.

How they can  help us with some jobs.  These jobs are Pharmacists, lawyers and paralegals, drivers, astronauts, store clerks, soldiers, babysitters, rescuers, sportswriters and other reporters.
Robots are currently analyzing documents, filling prescriptions, and handling other tasks that were once exclusively done by humans.
Let see how robots can help us. For example pharmacists. The next time you drop off a prescription order, you might see a robot behind the counter.  The UCSF Medical Center recently launched an automated, robotics-controlled pharmacy at two USCF hospitals. Machine s assembles doses of pills onto a thin plastic ting that contains all the medications for a patient for a 12 hour period, which is bar-coded.

Lawyers and paralegals.Instead of paying an army of lawyers and paralegals to review documents, software can do the job in fraction of the time for a fraction of the cost. For people this bring less problems.
Drivers.Google announced last fall that it was working on automated cars as a way to increase safety and help humans reduce the time spent commuting to work.
Astronauts. NASA’s Robonaut2 is the latest example of android technology, equipped with a wide array of sensors and dexterous five fingered hands, it will initially handle menial jobs such as cleaning the space station and assisting humans in space operations.
Store clerks. Companies are increasingly looking for way to sell more products with fewer employees. ATM machines reduce the need for bank tellers, virtual assistants can answer the phone 24 hours a day, and self-service machines are reducing the need for checkout clerks.
Soldiers. Although soldiers have yet to be replaced by an army of robots, we seem to be moving in that direction as drones and other machines are increasingly being used in reconnaissance and combat missions.
Babysitters. Robots are great for entertainment. A major Japanese retailer, introduced a four-foot-tall yellow and white robot at a store whose job is to babysit children while the adults shop. There are robots which tells jokes, gives quizzes, and can track kids using a radio-frequency identification chip.
Rescuers.Scientists based in Sendai have offered the use of their robots t assist in the rescue efforts that are underway in Japan. Also they offered the use of a snakelike robot that can enter tight spaces ad use a camera to survey them , which could be helpful in collapsed buildings.

Sportswriters and other reports. “It’s considerably less expensive for us to go this route than for us to try to have our own beat reporters at each one of these games” tells director of new media.

Teacher robots-It seems that robots are more and more used instead of human. Robots teach mostly languages, maths cognitive and social skill. They also can play music, teach songs and pre-school subjects.

An experiment was carried in South Coreaand Japan and childrenhad different opinions about it. Some of them liked it and thought that they were funny, but others said that robots cant understnd what they say,so according to their point of view, robots can't replace humans as they do not have mind, feelings , they are just machines and I strongly agree with this opinion.

To sum up, in my point of view, replacement of human by robots is not a good idea as they can't put heart into their job as they are just machines, lifeless piece of metal which is able to do only technical things.
